Holiday Course FAQ

If you can’t find the answer to your specific holiday course question here, please call us; we’ll be happy to help.

Are the staff DBS checked?

Before anyone works for our company, they MUST undergo full CRB/DBS Enhanced checks. We also carry out further DBS checks on all staff every twelve months - even though guidelines advise checks should be done only once every three years!

Does the company have public liability insurance?

Rest assured all courses and activities are insured up to the sum of five million pounds.

What activities might my child be involved in?

Our playschemes are varied and usually based around a theme such as 'Alice in Wonderland', 'Love and Friendship', Outerspace' etc with a number of craft and baking activities available each day but our main empasis is on the children having the freedom to play whether it be through adult led or self initiated activities.  Children are also encouraged to join in with in any sporting activities on offer if the wish to.

What procedures do you have in place?

All of the company’s procedures have been developed around strict rules set down by OFSTED. All procedures are available to see at all holiday course venues.

My child is very young and has never played sport before; can he/she attend the sport course?

All courses are open for boys and girls aged 3-11 years. It doesn’t matter if your child has never played sport before or if they attend regular weekly sessions. We encourage development through fun and believe every child has the right to play sport.

What does my child need to bring to the holiday course?

We advise that you provide your children with clothing suitable to the time of year and the activities they are likely to participate in, trainers (for sport), snacks and a packed lunch and plenty of drinks (not fizzy). Children are welcome to bring personal items but we cannot take responsility for these if they are lost or damaged.

If my child gets hurt during a course, what would happen?

All of our staff are trained in first aid, we would assess the injury and if it is minor, we will treat the child at the venue so they can continue to take part. At this point we will contact the parent to inform them and fill in an accident form. In the event of a more serious injury we would contact the parents immediately and take the child straight to hospital.

My child has been bullied on courses with other companies and nothing seemed to get done about it. Does your company take any measures to avoid bullying?

We operate a very strict anti-bullying policy and bullying in any capacity will not be tolerated. Anyone found bullying will be asked to leave the course and their parents will be contacted and told to pick their child up immediately. If your child is experiencing any difficulties, no matter how small, we would encourage you to contact us so we can resolve the matter.

What time can I drop my child off each morning?

We open our doors for the playscheme at 8am. Children on the sports courses are allowed to be dropped off fifteen minutes before the course starts at 9am.

What happens if I am going to be late picking my child up?

We understand that sometimes parents get held up at work or stuck in traffic. If you’re going to be late, don’t panic - simply store our number in your mobile and call us to let us know. We will ensure you child is kept safe in the warmth of the venue until you arrive. No child will be allowed to leave any course without a known person being there to sign them out.

What happens in bad weather?

We always try and get the children outside into the fresh air as much as possible; however if the weather is bad, we will invite children to participate in our range of activities inside. We will never cancel the course due to bad weather.

Do you provide any snacks during the day?

We offer breakfast (cereal, toast and fruit) and a small snack at around 4pm.  Fresh fruit, juuice and water is available throughout the day.

You don't run a holiday course at my child's school - How can my child's school get involved?

Your child’s school can get involved in our holiday courses in a range of ways. We are constantly looking for new venues to hold are courses at and parents and teachers can help by handing our leaflets out and inviting us in to deliver a fun sports assembly. If you or your school are interested please contact us.
