Summer is Here!!

I think we can safely say that Summer is upon us and, whilst it lasts, we are trying to make the best of the weather and get the children outside.  As well as the usual water play and den building we even took the craft table outside this week so that children were able to take part in a number of art and craft activities without missing out on being outdoors.

By about snack time most children were starting to over-heat so opted to stay indoors for the remainder of the session either taking advantage of the air conditioned ICT suite, doing more arts and crafts or having a 'dance off' in the infant hall.

Storytelling has also been a firm favourite this week where children have had the opportunity to wind down after a busy day at school helped along with a spot of meditation and relaxation at registration time (obviously this suited some children better than others!!)

The juniors have been exploring some messier options over the last couple of weeks and had great fun making slime during one of their after school sessions.  

Indoor play has included some innovative den designs and a number of arts and crafts including mixed media underwater seascapes.

Don't forget to book your child into this year's Summer Holiday Play Scheme.  We will be open between 8am - 6pm throughout the holiday and have plenty planned to keep everyone entertained.
