Goodbye February, Hello March!!

Date: 3rd Mar 2017 @ 6:45am

With half term holiday club now behind us it doesn't seem long until we will be breaking up again for the Easter holidays but, in the meantime we have lots of fun things to look forward to during the month of March and have already had an extremely busy week.  At the beginning of the week we enjoyed taking part in some Mardi Gras activities including making jesters...

... and Mardi Gras carnival masks...

... as well as sitting down to enjoy some obligatory Shrove Tuesday pancakes.

As we entered March on Wednesday, children created some beautiful daffodil pictures and cards and some even made some little Welsh Dolls out of dolly pegs, lace and felt.

Thursday was a day filled with numerous story book characters as children celebrated World Book Day both in school and in club and Friday saw children turn out in sporting gear ready for a visit from a very special sport star.

Our own sporting activities continue to be popular with over 30 children squeezing into the infant hall on both Monday (due to a particularly heavy downpour just before the football session) and Wednesday where more and more children seem to be enjoying the gymnastic session that runs each week.

The Book Fair in the junior hall and a couple of staff courses has had a bit of a knock on effect over on the junior side but children once again need to be congratulated for their patience when spending club time in one of the junior classrooms and the ICT suite.  We hope that there won't be too many room changes in the coming weeks and are also looking forward to the warmer weather and lighter evenings when the children can run off some of their surplus energy outside.

Thank you to all of you that have been leaving comments on our Facebook page.  As a result of parent feedback we are running a competition in aid of Autism Together and encouraging children to take part in our 'Springtime Card Design' competition where not only are there prizes to be won but the winning designs will also be used to make cards to sell within our settings.  Children should already have brought home entry forms from class and copies have been sent home with invoices this week so we are urging as many people as possible to take part. The closing date is March 10th to enable cards to be made to sell in time for Easter.
